Water

Water you can hatch straight away

In raw map data a river is one line down its middle, and a coastline is a heap of loose pieces. Usually someone in the office then spends an afternoon tracing it into something they can hatch.

How the water is rebuilt

Our geometry engine joins, closes and clips the water into clean surfaces: rivers, lakes, canals and coastlines, right up to the edge of your site. Streams that are mapped only as a line get a realistic width, so they show up as water. Culverts and underground sections are filtered out, so the plan shows the site the way a visitor sees it.

In the file

Outlines and filled surfaces sit on separate layers, ready to hatch, tint or switch off. In 3D every river lies in its valley on the terrain.
